California State Capitol Annex
MOCA Services is contracted as the Owner’s Representative to provide the State of California with a full range of program management, programming, planning, design management, and construction management services to deliver the replacement of the California State Capitol Annex. The program also entails the renovation of the Capitol’s historic West Wing and a parking structure. This is a net-zero energy, LEED Silver, and carbon neutral program.
Originally constructed in 1952, the new Capitol Annex will be approximately 525,000 square feet and will provide safer, updated, and current code-compliant facilities that meet current state standards for government offices, public assembly, and accessibility.
The new parking structure project will be a secure facility providing a minimum of 150 stalls for the executive and legislative branch officials. The West Wing work will be limited to seismic retrofit, interior repairs, and upgrades to building systems. Completion of the Capitol Annex project is scheduled for December 2025.
As part of this effort, MOCA Services is also providing full program management services to the 10th and O Street Building developed under the California Department of General Services (DSG). This is a high-profile project currently under construction in downtown Sacramento on a former 1.2-acre parking lot.
