National Security Agency Cyber Security Data Center

The National Security Agency (NSA) Data Center, located at the Utah National Guard Facility at Camp Williams, Utah, was built with a Military Construction (MILCON) budget of approximately $1.5B. The data center encompasses approximately 1 million square feet and includes data halls, a vehicle control inspection facility, a kennel, a visitor control center, utility plants, administration areas, generator plants, fuel tanks, cooling towers, and two substations.

MOCA Services prepared cost estimates in MCACES (MII) and PACES on the various facilities and infrastructure packages of the NSA Data Center and multiple facilities as well as an electrical plant planned on Fort Meade.

MOCA Services prepared current working estimates throughout programming, schematic, parametric, and final designs for the the various facilities and site packages of the data center. These included multiple individual data centers, a central energy plan, infrastructure and roadways, and site work.  We performed a market validation on the cost drivers in the Salt Lake City area, and we used this as a basis for cost control throughout planning and design.
